Our late club archivist, \u0027Ferdie\u0027 Gilson, told us that \u003cem\u003e\"...our members, though few in number, soon gained the soubriquet of the \u0027Irrepressibles\u0027 due to their habit of winning 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in almost every track \u0026 field open meeting in the 1870s\u003c/em\u003e.\"\u0026nbsp;
