The Gibb - an annual 5 Mile race at the end of October
- 1 lap course, across Farthing Down and Happy Valley
The Pirie - an Annual 10 Mile race in early December
- a 2 lap course, across Farthing Down and Happy Valley
These events offer the following:
- Prizes for Men, Women and Vets
- Prize for first visiting team (4 to score) - Gibb and Pirie only
- Full changing and showers available at:- SLH Clubhouse
- Free tea and cake for all finishers at the club house
- Start on Farthing Downs (10 minutes jog from club house)
Near as Damn It - 10k Summer Series
This 10k event is part of a summer series of three events that is held on the last Thursday in May, June and July in the Farthing Downs.
Elmore 7 - July
This tough 7 mile road race starts at Chipstead and is always held in conjunction with the Chipstead Flower Show annually in July famous for maintaining a traditional fayre environment of family entertainment.
The event has grown in popularity attracting 400 runners with all abilities taking part.
The course is run on rolling quiet roads in the Chipstead area. The covetted trophy and other prizes are presented from the display pen with full refreshment facilities available.

Boxing Day Handicap
The Boxing Day race is about two miles long, following a course which, after a short but tough climb, follows the top of Happy Valley and returns along the bottom of the valley.
The race is run on “yacht handicap” rules; the slowest runner starts first, followed by the next slowest and so on until the fastest runner leaves about 10 minutes later. It is intended to be a friendly race, relatives and friends are welcome to join in.
The race starts at 11.00; numbers and a start time are available from the Club House from 10.00 to 11.00. All participants are requested to bring a wrapped prize of value around 3 pounds. These are distributed at random in the Bar after the race - so everyone gets a prize!.
