June 11th, 2008: Young Athletes League 2 - Parliament Hill
Posted by Ian Field at 5:24 pmA scorching hot day, and some scorching performances brought victory for SLH in the 2nd Young Athletes League match at Parliament Hill Fields on Sunday 1st June. The team amassed 488pts to 2nd placed Kingston Poly’s 458. This places us joint top of the league with 2 matches remaining.
Well done to all that competed, and apologies to the non-scorers who came along, only to find the match referee was going to cancel most of their events. Kingston, who host the next one, have assured us they will be re-instated for 22nd June at Kingsmeadow.

June 9th, 2008: Young Athletes victory - Parliament Hill 31st May
Posted by Ian Field at 12:54 pmFull results to follow this week, but suffice to say it was a great weekend and a victory to put SLH joint top of the League. Next match, Sunday 22nd June at Kingsmeadow, Kingston.

June 9th, 2008: Track Open meeting and Club Champs - 21st June

This Open meeting is correct on the online fixture list but may have been communicated as 14th June to some members earlier in the season. The venue, as always, is Tooting Bec Stadium, which is adjacent to Tooting Bec Common.
Come along and enter whichever events take your fancy. It would be good to see as many Young Athletes as possible, especially those working towards selection for the SLH team events. There are High Jump and Shot available for all, as well as track races over all distances, and hurdles. High Jumpers and Hurdlers are always in short supply for the teams, so get practicing !
Bring your membership card and club vest along for free entry into those events which are designated as SLH Club Championships. Make sure you arrive 1 hour before your first event to have time to register, get numbers attached to your vest, and warm-up properly.
