JPMorgan Corporate Challenge, Battersea Park 11/7/2001
Stuart and Pippa both managed to get themselves on the winners rostrum to meet Sir Steve Redegrave at the first of the two Battersea Park races that make up the JPMorgan Corporate Challenge. The evidence was featured on the main results website http://www.jpmorganchasecc.com. This is how it was reported:

Stuart Major (center) and his wife, Pippa, who finished fourth among the women, are congratulated by (from left): Jeremy Kelly, Managing Director, JPMorgan; Nick O'Donohoe, Managing Director, Head of European Cash Equity, JPMorgan; and Sir Steven Redgrave, 5-time Olympic champion.

From left, Mike Jubb, Mike Hastings and Stuart Major have separated themselves from the pack early in the race.
It was also a big evening for Stuart and Pippa Major. The married couple is employed by Legal & General and were two of the best runners on the course. Stuart won the men's division for the first time in an impressive 16:59, the 9th fastest men's time run in the Series this year. Pippa, at 21:45, was the fourth woman to cross the finish line. Stuart secured a Tiffany's plate for his effort. Pippa had her photo taken with Redgrave and received an autograph. It was hard to tell who was more tickled pink.
"I knew the conditions would be quite windy and I wasn't sure who would be here," said Stuart Major, who finished second in this event last year and also has three top five finishes to his credit. "I really wasn't sure of my race plan, I thought I would wait. We got to the first mile at 4:45, and felt I hadn't really started running. Around the two-mile mark, I started to pick it up and see if anyone responded. It was gratifying to win because I felt I have been running well lately but my times didn't reflect it."
