TOPIC: London League Update and Races this weekend

London League Update and Races this weekend 1 year, 1 month ago #903

We scored 16 points in both the League and Mob Match Rankings at the Thames Turbo last Monday. It looks like Henry did not score as I am sure we would have scored higher if he did.

We have a strong team for the Ful On tommorow, so lets hope for a better score there. I cannot make it as I cannot run, due to knee cartilage problems and don't expect to be running soon either. Hope everyone else has a good race though and hope Ian is feeling better.

Also good luck to Andy Collins for the 1/2 Ironman in Feurteventura tomorrow and to Chris and Nigel for the Cambridge Duathlon on Sunday

Jim Burdett is also racing the 1/2 Iron Feurteventura with Andy - so it should be a great head to head between our big Ironmen!

A great couple of performances from the top Tri guys - Jim 4.39 Andy 5.02 not bad for two old blokes, they even beat some of the younger competitors. Must have been plenty of mechanicals!

Unfortunately I got a flat about 5K into the bike, made for an interesting run back to transition! Pretty gutted and now chomping at the bit for Crystal Palace, unless there is anything sooner!?

Awesome result for SLH at Ful-on duathlon this weekend as we have claimed a first place for the London League!

A big thanks to Ian who turned out despite still fighting off illness to put in a sterling performance and get our all essential vet place for the London League. Having only ridden his shinny new road bike a couple of times it was great to see Ben out racing for us.

Ryan and Ben had the most exciting finish of the day for 6th and 7th place, but the performance of the day has got to go to Becks who smashed the first run, laid down the power to record the fastest female bike split and then finished the race with a massive 2 minute advantage over 2nd place.

Can't wait for the next London League event!

Thanks Matt.

And I'll get in there first to congratulate Matt on his superb 1st place in the men's race. Not phased by the leader running the first 6k in 19.5 minutes (!), he blew everyone away on the bike.

Great result guys! Ian
