Boxing Day Handicap
Danny Hutton, Winner 2012
The Boxing Day race is about two miles long, following a course which, after a short but tough climb, follows the top of Happy Valley and returns along the bottom of the valley.
The race is run on “yacht handicap” rules; the slowest runner starts first, followed by the next slowest and so on until the fastest runner leaves about 10 minutes later. It is intended to be a friendly race, relatives and friends are welcome to join in.
The race starts at 11.00; numbers and a start time are available from the Club House from 10.00 to 10.30. All participants are requested to bring a wrapped prize of value around 3 pounds. These are distributed at random in the Bar after the race - so everyone gets a prize!.
