SLH MEN
SML Match 1 (Medway Park, Sat 5th May) - Report by Paul Mitchell
Unexpectedly promoted last season to Division 1 due to the reorganisation of the Southern Men's League, our aim for this season is a safe position in mid-table.
Up against strong Herne Hill and Medway teams, but just one Hastings athlete, we were unlikely to place better than third. A series of unfortunate injuries on a cold, damp day - unsuited to expolsive sprints or jumps - put us in our expected place.
Some key performances - Joseph ran a PB in the 100m, Kieran came back after two seasons out to score well in the long and triple, Tom once more carried the throwing squad, and Richard won the 400 hurdles (regretably bowing out of the high hurdles having tweaked a muscle).
ALL TRACK AND FIELD FIXTURES ARE NOW LISTED UNDER EVENTS/FIXTURES ALONG WITH SURREY ROAD LEAGUE DATES.
