May 2nd, 2009: Southern Men’s League - success at Kingsmeadow

Posted by Paul at 10:41 pm

The men’s Southern League started in the best possible way, with a win for the team at Kingsmeadow on Sat 2nd May. Despite the usual lack of coverage in pole vault and high hurdles, the squad put in strong performances in our first match, with a large number of our athletes coming home first or second.  Team results:  SLH 106, HHH 95, Tunbridge Wells 77, Haywards Heath/Lewes 68.

Individual results as follows:

The squad was also backed up by many non-scoring competitors.  Unfortunately I do not have the non-scoring results.

Additionally, it is fair to say that Billy Porter was the first to cross the line in the 100m sprint.  Official result is shown above.
