June 9th, 2008: Young Athletes victory - Parliament Hill 31st May
Posted by Ian Field at 12:54 pmFull results to follow this week, but suffice to say it was a great weekend and a victory to put SLH joint top of the League. Next match, Sunday 22nd June at Kingsmeadow, Kingston.
Very well done to all.
There was unfortunately a misunderstanding with the host club about the availability of non-scoring events at this meeting, and most were cancelled, with the 100m running without any notice, and 90mins early, meaning some athletes had not yet arrived. As the relays were cancelled also, this left several athletes with no events ! The home team from the next event, Kingston, have already kindly assured us there WILL be a full set of non-scoring events at the next match.
I would just liike to thank the following 3 athletes in particular for allowing others to take their place when they otherwise would have been left out : -
Zoe Collins who allowed Nicholette Pollard to run in her place in the scoring relay.
Reshae McPherson who allowed Jazz Crawford to take her place in the 75m B string
Kalema Powell who kindly agreed to do B string Shot on the understaning she could race later, but found there was no place available.
Thanks from Ian and Anne
