November 24th, 2007: Orion Mob Match report/results
Posted by Chris Phelan at 4:01 pmCongratulations to Orion in their success over SLH in the mob match, read Colin Young’s report/results from the event below:
The first mob match of the season took place yesterday (25th November). A brave cluster of runners and supporters from South London Harriers ventured across to Epping Forest to challenge Orion. The course on offer was an undulating 7.5 miles which required grit, determination and plenty of “dancing” around.
Whilst being beaten overall there were positives for many of our runners. Our club captain lead by example coming home first for the club and third overall. Ruth Hutton was the first lady home overall. Nick Lee, who trained for the first time with us on Thursday, ran a splendid time of 55.13. Congratulations to Colin Moyer and Jo Lingwood who both completed their first cross country events. Colin Moyer’s run was even more impressive given that he ran in road trainers on what was a very boggy and muddy course!
The final word should be given to those members who travelled with us to support the team - it helped massively and was hugely appreciated!
