November 17th, 2007: Lancing College Challenge

Posted by Chris Phelan at 3:15 pm

A splinter group of 3 SLH runners competed today at Lancing College against Charterhouse, Lancing and Sevenoaks. Read David Baker’s report below:

Out on the course in the middle of nowhere was John Mattinson giving us all a cheer.

The race developed into a two way tussle between Barry Attwell and David Baker. David led for most of the way but was beaten on the run in by just one second. Paul Mitchell tried gallantly to complete a 1-2-3 but was fourth 16 seconds behind. Times below (distance 5.5m approx)

1st Barry Attwell 35.01
2nd David Baker 35.02
3rd Fraser Nicholls (Charterhouse) 37.00
4th Paul Mitchell 37.16

Despite finishing 1,2 and 4 we needed another runner for the team race which was won by Charterhouse.

A good run by all followed by sausage, chips and beans - wicked!

David
